Naturally 7
Naturally 7 is an American music group. It has been 20 years since its establishment in 1999 in New York City. The video of N7 singing on the subway in Paris has received over 2.6 million hits on Youtube. Regarding the origin of N7, Roger Thomas recalls that when his brother Warren wanted a set of drums, their mother refused the request. So Warren began to imitate various sounds to make up for the performance without drums. This experience had inspired Roger to found an a-cappella group.
 
Comprising 7 guys, Naturally 7 use their voices to make music through multiple ways. What they do is far more than a-cappella. They are a band without a band, but a group with a distinct a-cappella style they call "Vocal Play", which is, according to Roger Thomas, the art of becoming an instrument using the human voice to create the sound.
 
They simulate the sounds of an instrumental band using only their voices, mouths and distortion effects, imitating the sounds of drum, guitar, horn, flute, among others. Every band member has his preferred style, or favorite songs and together they can interpret them all. Naturally 7 summon up soul, rap, rock and folk in one harmonious balance. Their repertoire is a mix of their own compositions and cover versions.
 

Nowadays, they have famous fans such as Michael Bublé (whom they joined 3 world tours), Quincy Jones (who called them “the best a-cappella band worldwide”), Herbie Hancock (listen to their H. Hancock medley) and many others.
 
This year they are celebrating their 20th anniversary which will be accompanied by new release and remixes of famous hits (such as “Wall of Sound”). They have participated in CBS’s new TV format “World Best” which was aired from February to April 2019. And of course, they tour around the world!
