Piano: Liu Jiren
Liu Jiren, born in China, is now studying at University College London (UCL) for a Master Degree. He has previously graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in the UK. He started learning piano from his parents at a young age and was later taught by piano educator Professor Yao Jingzhuang. In 2009, he was admitted to the Middle School attached to China Conservatory of Music where he later studied with Director of Piano Department Hu Xiaoxue.
At the age of 11, he performed one of the most famous Chinese violin concerto “Butterfly Lovers” together with renowned violinist Yang Tianwa. At the age of 12, he won the Excellency Award in the final of “Xinghai Cup”. In 2015, he won sixth place in the YAMAHA School Piano Competition of the Middle School attached to China Conservatory of Music. In 2017, he was invited to perform at the London Spring Festival Gala and London Lantern Festival Gala; in July, he went on a recital tour across China with percussionist Yu Le. In 2018, he was invited to the "Birmingham National Day Gala". During his study in the UK, he has been invited on a number of occasions to perform at the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in the UK. In 2019, he was invited to participate in the Inbar Honour Day of International Horticultural Exhibition, Beijing.
He has given concerts at various venues in the UK and in China, such as Westminster Hall, Manchester Town Hall, Town Hall and Symphony Hall Birmingham, Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall, Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall, Changsha Concert Hall, and Zhuhai Grand Theatre.
