Vivace Quartet
Vivace Quartet is the youngest and the professional string quartet in China, who won 2nd prize of the 3rd Ysaÿe International Music Competition in Belgium(the first place vacant). They were also selected as the only Asian group in the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition 2022 in the UK. It is worth mentioning that they are also the first Chinese string quartet to enter this competition again since 1985.
The four musicians all graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music, taught by the famous violinist, Professor Gefang Yang, who was the first violin of the Alexander String Quartet. Vivace Quartet is active on the music stage and held concerts in many famous places, such as Forbidden City Concert Hall, National Library Art Center, Central Conservatory of Music, Poly Grand Theater, Daning Theater in Shanghai, Tianjin Concert Hall, Qingdao Grand Theater, Zibo Grand Theater, Changsha Concert Hall, Suzhou Culture and Art Center, etc.
Vivace Quartet can exceed public’s expectation every time by producing consistently high level of performances in concerts, new music showcases, and public lectures given by such esteemed musicians and artists, such as Siqing Lv, Kun Hu of Royal School of Music, Prof. Peter Schuhmayer of Vienna University for the Performing Arts, Prof. Jörg-Wolfgang Jahn, a former member of the BARTHOLDY-QUARTETT in Germany, the Juilliard String Quartet.
While constantly delving into classical chamber music, Vivace Quartet were also committed to experimenting with various musical styles and dabble in a wide range of musical forms. They have participated in the performance of China Chamber Opera Creation Promotion for several times and have been invited to participate in the recording of several large-scale music programs.
