The Story of the Animation Film
l’Odyssée de Rick le Cube tells the story of Rick who is on the trip of exploring the world and knowing about himself. The inspiration mainly comes from the classic fairytale The Ugly Duckling and the science fiction Rick le Cube.
Rick was born in the chicken coop, but as a “box egg”, he was abandoned by his mother and began the trip of exploring the world. During the mysterious trip, Rick experienced fantastic exotic conditions and customs, such as lush forests, grand rivers, booming cities as well as the vast space. All the things he met will be shown in a different styles of audio and visual scenes through the interpretation of a variety of musical instruments and electronic sound effects.

The New Scene of Concerts
The animation and music of l’Odyssée de Rick le Cube was designed by Jesse Lucas, the renowned French animation designer and musician and performed by the most dynamic electronic music duet SATI Duo in France.
Various styles of music is presented on the scene of Rick le Cube, with the range of electronic music, wind’s music and folk music all over the world. The audience can enjoy the exotic sound of piano, African drum, Indian Tabla, Scottish bagpipe, etc and have a feeling of the music world behind the films through the specially designed audio effects.

Erwan Raguenes, a professional piano player, learned the bass from Louis Arell and has a reputation of the creator of France’s outstanding experimental music and pioneer music. Frequently invited to the European major electronic music festival, he was also the producer of the French electronic band FAB group album. After that, together with Lucas, he set up the multimedia audio duo, dedicating to explore elements of new sound and image.

Jesse Lucas

Lucas is the representative of first generation of French VJ (Image Knight) figures. Dedicated to the audio and video creation and design of concerts, he is also the creator of the VJ-FRANCE Vowel Federation. His brilliant works are highly accepted by European and American arts festival, including Orly and Bollywood Orchestra which is on tours of Europe and Africa. Being committed to using different mediums to enlarge the audience of traditional audio concerts, Lucas then established the SATI audio and visual multimedia duo with Erwan Raguenes.
