Duo Jatekok
In 2007, Nairi Badal and Adelaide Panaget played Jatekok jointly which was composed by Kurtag. They were very interested in this poetic and artistic work. The duo then followed the advice of one of France’s top 10 pianists, Clare Dessay, to form a piano duet. They named the duet “Duo Jatekok” , taking the inspiration from Jatekok, with the meaning in Hungarian “game”, which is in line with their ideas on music and the duet.
After winning two international competition awards for two pianos in Rome in 2011 and in Ghent in 2013, Duo Jatekok received guidance from Argerich and Bridget angeli. And they have accumulated a set of works that could reflect their vitality and rich expression. Their first album (Danses) was released by Mirare in 2015, which was widely praised by the media. So the Duet plans to perform the album works in plenty of festivals and famous venues, including the International Piano Festival in La Roque d’Anthéron,Warsaw Opera, Frakey Plaza in Brussel, Antonin Dvorak Museum in Prague, etc.
Duo Jatekok has cooperated with Geneva Chamber Orchestra, Warsaw Symphony Orchestra etc. In addition, they formed a special quartet with two percussion musicians from the Paris Opera House and the French Broadcasting Orchestra. In addition to playing classical music for the audience, the piano duet is also willing to share their love of art through different creative forms. They often use a very novel way to contact with the audience, whether to interpret the works or the history of the composer with microphones, or invited sand painters to perform "The Nutcracker", or even deduce “The Little Prince” with movie stars.
