Vienna Philharmonic 5+1 Cellists
Interpreting the most beautiful string music, the Vienna Philharmonic is famous for its distinctly elegant Viennese sound. Founded in 2002 by the renowned cellist Gerhart Kaufmann, the 5+1 Cellists of the Vienna Philharmonic shows the audience the charisma of the most impressive bass ensemble in the world.
The Sextet has abundant repertoire widely ranging from Baroque works to pop classics such as Beatles pop hits. Through its vigorous, profound and affectionate tone colour, the six cellists bring many of the classical repertoire including Tchaikovskys Rococo Variation back to life, which was originally composed for a full size symphony orchestra.
Instead of setting a fixed principal player, the ensemble interprets the works through its dramatic musical arrangements, enabling the audience to experience the impeccable skill and the unique characteristics of each player.
Those who have ever enjoyed the performance of Vienna Philharmonic 5+1 Cellists normally admire the artists for their magic power which is carried in the musical interpretation. These beautiful and unbelievable melodies surprise the audience with prolonged excitement and enable us to look forward to their incomparable appearance on stage.
