Zhang Xi
Born 1987 in Harbin, China, Zhang Xi started to learn the piano when she was 3 and made her debut at the age of 6. In 1998, Zhang Xi was admitted to Shenzhen Arts School under the instruction of Prof. Liu Gang to study percussion and meanwhile piano and composition. In 2002, she won the Marimba Gold Prize of the junior group Guangdong in the China National Art Talents Tryout and the Gold Prize of the junior group of the Piano Competition.
In 2005, she was granted the full scholarship by Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Miami University School of Music. Zhang Xi continued her musical education at Conservatorium van Amsterdam in August 2006. She participated as the only Chinese candidate in Holland Youth Music Competition and won the Second Place of Marimba Section. She was invited to be the member of the Jury the following year.
Zhang Xis performance was critically acclaimed by many percussion maestros including Keiko Abe, Leigh Howard Stevens and Ney Rosauro.
Nicolai Slaatto
Nicolai Slaatto studied percussion at Danske Musikkonservatorium (The Royal Danish Academy of Music) with Gert Mortensen and Wiland Welzel. He was the member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and has performed with Young Janaceck Philharmonic and other orchestras in Germany and Denmark. Nicolai is now studying at Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Laurent Warnier
Laurent Warnier was born in 1988, Luxemburg. She started to study music when he was 6 and studied percussion at Sanem. He went to study percussion at Esch/Alzette, where his education included chamber music, piano, jazz music, conduction, composition and music pedagogue. After graduating from Athene de Luxembourg, he started to study percussion at Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Laurent was the winner of UGDA Music Competition and EMCY Marimba Competition. He is also an experienced and active performer on stage.
Ruben Garcia
Ruben Garcia was born in Spain. He started to study percussion at Zaragoza Music School under the instruction of Javier Belinchon and Jose Soler. He has staged in Spain, France, Norway and Italy and has collaborated with Jacques Dupriez, Alexis Volodin, and Ole Edvard Antonsen, etc.
He is now studying percussion at Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
